Walk through the Valley of the Kings, the ancient burial ground of the Pharaohs from the New Kingdom, hidden in the limestone hills of Gurna. Your visit includes entry into 3 tombs, however if you wish to enter the tomb of Tutankhamun there is an additional ticket cost.
Visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut with its unique design - the only temple in Egypt built in terrace formation into the cliff face. The relief sculpture within the temple recites the tale of the divine birth of a female pharaoh – the first of its kind, along with the first commercial trading expedition to the ancient land of Punt (today’s Somalia).
On leaving the West Bank, we stop at the Colossi of Memnon which are the only remaining standing statues fronting the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III and show the pharaoh sitting on his throne.
Enjoy lunch back on the East Bank with time to relax before visiting the magnificent Karnak Temple complex, the largest ancient temple complex in the world. Consisting of temples, chapels, obelisks, sanctuaries, a sacred lake and the imposing Hypostyle Hall of 134 gigantic columns, Karnak Temple is the second most visited site in Egypt.
Your Luxor tour ends with a visit to Luxor Temple, one of the wonderful temples of Egypt. Located in the heart of the city, and originally connected to Karnak Temple by the Avenue of Sphinx, Luxor Temple was of great significance to the ancient Egyptians.
