2 Day tour to Sinai Mountain and St. Catherine’s

Following one of the probable routes of the Israelites during the biblical exodus, you will be transferred by a modern car from your hotel in Cairo. The journey to Mount Sinai's amazing overnight tours from anywhere in Cairo is between 6 to 7 hours to reach St Catherine town, we will drive through the tunnel of Ahmed Hamdi located in the Suez Governorate and we will go under the water of the Suez Canal.

Inside the monastery, you will see the Burning Bush, surrounded by a small chapel built by Queen Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine.

You will also visit the Church of Transfiguration, constructed by Emperor Justinian.

Saint Catherine Monastery is also home to the second most important Christian library in the world, after the Vatican Library, which is not open to the public.

Additionally, there is a Muslim mosque within the monastery that has never been used because it was not properly oriented toward the Qibla or the direction of the holy Kaaba in Mecca. Your professional guide will show you the mosque and explain its history.

Along the way, you will stop to see the rock where the Israelites placed the golden calf, which is said to have produced a voice like that of gods.

You will also visit the tomb of Aaron, the younger brother of Moses, which is believed to be the resting place of this biblical prophet.

After completing your overnight trip to Mount Sinai, you will be transferred back to Cairo.
