Day 2: Siwa oasis safari trip
After enjoying a very calm sunrise, you will have breakfast and prepare for a visit to El Dakroor Mountain before heading out for a safari. Following this, you will embark on a jeep safari journey into the desert to escape the stress of everyday life. Your safari guide will lead you through vast sand dunes and deep stretches of the desert in a 44 Jeep.
It is important to observe the unique desert wildlife and plant life.
You will also have the opportunity to try sandboarding and other fun activities. Our team will provide guidance to help you make the most of your camera and capture the most memorable moments of your trip to the Siwa desert. You will then enjoy a delightful dessert and Bedouin-style dinner at a place called Bir Wahed, which has regional decor.
Next, you will travel to the area where salt is harvested from the salt lakes in Siwa.
This salt is known for its therapeutic and stress-relieving properties. The saline water in the lakes is believed to offer natural benefits for the skin, sinuses, and eyes. It also makes it easy to relax by floating on your back while reading a book. As a result, Siwa is now mainly supported by the recreation and medical tourism industries. The hot and cold springs at Bir Wahed were discovered by accident.
Just a few kilometers away, slowly growing in the middle of the Great Sand Sea, this oasis attracts visitors from around the world who come to cool off in the freshwater pool after soaking in the naturally occurring hot springs.
It is a simple and natural form of therapy.
You will visit Cleopatra Spring, a rocky pool that receives cold freshwater from a nearby spring.
You can immerse yourself in this lovely water to relax and recharge for the day. One of the highlights of your Siwa oasis expedition is watching a breathtaking desert sunset while walking barefoot. This spring is also surrounded by impressive green palm trees. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a barbecue meal featuring grilled meats, fresh salads, delicious Siwian food, coffee, and dates, all served in a camp designed in a traditional Bedouin style.
Day3: Historical sities in siwa
After breakfast, we’ll head to your hotel, where you can relax before heading out for a delicious lunch. One of the highlights of your Siwa oasis tour to the vast sand sea is walking on the dunes with your bare feet while enjoying a stunning desert sunset. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a barbecue meal featuring grilled meats, fresh salads, delicious Siwian cuisine, coffee, and dates at a camp that is built in the traditional Bedouin style.
The Mountain of the Dead, also known as Gabal Elmwata, is a small hill located at the northernmost part of Siwa Town.
It is covered with impressive wall paintings and contains numerous rock graves. This place is also called Gebel al-Mawta, meaning the "Mountain of the Dead." Most of the tomb construction in this area was done during the 26th dynasty, as well as the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. During World War II, when the Italians attacked the oasis, the Siwans took shelter in these tombs.
Next, we will visit The Stronghold of Shali, a mud-brick fortress built in the 13th century that once served as a home for the Siwa people.
The structures, made from salt, mud, rock, and plaster, have deteriorated over time, even though some of them are still in use today.
Our next stop will be the Oracle Temple, also known as the Aghurmi or Amun Ra Temple.
This was the site of Alexander the Great's first expedition into Egypt, and he visited the Greek-built temple of Amun Ra.
We will also visit Fatnas Lake.
There are two ways to reach the small island of Fatnas at Birket Siwa: by bicycle or on foot. To the west, the hills of Jabal Beida and Jabal Hamra offer breathtaking views, making them a wonderful place to relax and watch the sunset over the lake. As you stroll through the park, you may see various types of beautiful trees, including banana, palm, and olive trees. After that, you will be taken to your accommodation or hotel.
