Your Private Day

Day 1

Day 1- cairo -fayoum

Our tour leader will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo to begin our journey to Fayoum in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle. Upon arrival in Fayoum, our first stop is the Kom Aushim Museum, which serves as a good place to find guides for the entire region. The museum was established in 1974 and features artifacts from the Prehistoric to Roman periods, along with a portrait of Fayoum.

Our second stop is Karanis, one of the largest Greco-Roman cities in Fayoum, originally inhabited by mercenaries of Ptolemy the Second's army and founded in the third century B.C.

The city has two temples.

Next, we will transfer to Hawara, also known as Arsinoiton polis, which dates back to the eleventh Dynasty when Amenemhet III built the Pyramid Complex.

We will then visit Lake Qarun, named after the King who was buried in the wadi along with all his wealth and possessions.

Lunch will be served on the shores of Qarun Lake.

At the end of the day, we will visit the Waterfall and Wadi El Rayan, a depression that stretches 673 kilometres and lies 42 metres below sea level.

When this depression was linked to Qarun Lake through underground pipes in 1966, it was converted into a water reservoir.

Our trip concludes with a visit to the village of Tunis and an exploration of the pottery art school.

We will spend the night at a hotel in Fayoum.

Day2

Day2- fayoum-cairo

After breakfast, your tour leader will pick you up from your hotel to begin the second day of your trip. You will start your desert journey using a 4x4 Jeep, beginning at Tunis Village and heading towards Qarun Lake. Your tour will then take you to Wadi El Hitan, also known as Wadi Al Hitan. This area is famous for the discovery of fossils by scientists in the Zeuglodon Valley, which was made in 1936. Wadi El Hitan is located 35 kilometers west of Wadi El-Ryan, directly in the western desert. It is a protected area and a natural heritage site, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005. This location is rich in fossils and is often considered an outdoor museum. The site is approximately 45 million years old and contains soft rock fossils, including petrified mangrove roots, shark teeth, and teeth from ancient whales.

You will find fossilized corals and seashells throughout the area.

During your visit, you will also explore the Fossil & Climate Change Museum. Outside, you can see some fossilized whale bones and fossilized mangroves, while inside glass cases, you will find a variety of fossils, skeletons, fossilized mangroves, and ancient seashells. After your visit, you will enjoy a meal and travel to Qusur El Arab before returning to the Fayoum Oasis. Along the way, you will visit the Madinet Madi temple. On your return journey to Cairo, you will take a drive to Cairo, visit the Fayoum Pyramids, and then proceed to your hotel in Cairo.
