Day 1: Arrival - Luxor East Bank Tours

Our tour guide will meet you at Cairo International Airport or collect you from your hotel in Cairo to take you to the airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative and then begin your Luxor tours. The day will start with a flight from Cairo to Luxor, followed by visits to the east bank sites. The first stop will be the Luxor Temple, an impressive structure built 3400 years ago during the Eighteenth Dynasty by the powerful Pharaoh Amenhotep, and later completed by King Ramses II, Tutankhamun, and Horemheb. This temple was constructed in honor of the chief deity of ancient Egypt, God Amun.

Next, you will visit the Karnak Temple, a vast complex that includes several temples, regarded as one of the most significant architectural achievements of ancient Egypt.

It was dedicated to the Theban triad of gods: Amun, Mut, and their son Khonsu, who was the moon god in ancient Egyptian belief. This temple is considered the largest place of worship in the world and its remains are a testament to the ingenuity of the ancient Egyptian civilization.

You will have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant of good quality, then transfer to your hotel in Luxor for check-in and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Day 2: Luxor West Bank Tours – Departure

After enjoying your breakfast at the hotel, you will be met by your private Egyptologist guide to continue your excursions in Luxor. Today you’ll enjoy a wonderful tour of the West Bank of Luxor, including a visit to the Valley of the Kings, the most famous historical necropolis in the world. This was where the kings and rulers of ancient Egypt during the New Kingdom were buried over a period of 500 years. It is located on the west bank of the Nile and includes more than 63 tombs for great kings. One of the most famous is the tomb of King Tutankhamun, which was discovered intact and had not been looted. All of the artifacts found in this tomb are currently on display at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Tutankhamun is considered one of the most famous kings of the New Kingdom in ancient Egyptian history.

During his reign, he restored the power of religion and traditional Egyptian art, which had been challenged by King Akhenaten’s rebellion against traditional religious practices. Akhenaten had established a new capital known as Amarna.

Next, you will visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as the Temple of Deir el-Bahri.

It was built by the powerful Queen Hatshepsut during the 18th Dynasty. The temple was dedicated to the worship of the goddess Hathor, who was associated with motherhood, and Amun Ra. It was also used for worshiping the falcon god Horus and Anubis, the guardian of the necropolis. King Montuhotep II was the first to use this area for building tombs and a temple for himself.

You will have lunch at a quality local restaurant and then continue to visit the Colossi of Memnon, which are two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt during the 18th Dynasty.

After that, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo after completing your tour of both the east and west banks of the Nile in Luxor.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch.
