Our experienced guide will meet you at your hotel in Cairo or Giza and take you by a private, air-conditioned vehicle to begin your private guided Cairo Day Tour to El Minya. The drive along the modern road takes almost four hours to reach El Minya. Upon arrival, you will start your visit to the great plain where Akhenaton received divine inspiration to build his city, Akhetaten, as the central hub for worship of the god Aten.
Next, you will visit Tuna al-Jabal, which features tombs renowned for their unique murals.
This site combines Greco-Roman and ancient Egyptian artistic styles. Your El Minya tour continues with a visit to the tomb of Petosiris, the Ibis temple, baboon catacombs, and the tomb of Isadora. This tomb dates back to the 2nd century AD and is associated with Isadora, a woman famous for her love story in the city of Hermopolis.
After exploring these sites, you will stop for lunch at an oriental restaurant.

On the second day of your two-day trip from Cairo to El Minya, you will start your day with breakfast, followed by a visit to Beni Hassan with your private Egyptologist guide, who is provided as part of your Cairo Day Tours. Beni Hassan is home to approximately 300 tombs from the Middle Pharaonic era, some of which are open to the public. You will have the opportunity to explore the tombs of noblemen and rulers from the Middle Kingdom, beginning with the tomb of Bakhet III, a high-ranking official who served as the Governor of the Oryx Nome during that period. You will also visit the tomb of Khnumhotep, who was a governor under Pharaoh Amenemhat III of the 12th Dynasty, and the tomb of Khaty, a governor from the 11th Dynasty.
After this, you will have lunch at a local restaurant known for its quality cuisine.
Then, you will proceed to Tel El Amarna, the former capital of Pharaoh Akhenaten and his queen Nefertiti. Upon arrival, you will tour the northern tombs, including the tombs of Ahmose and Huya. You will also visit the site of the royal palace in Amarna.
Once your Cairo tours and excursions to El Minya are complete, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
