Your Private Day

Day 1

Day 1: Philae Temple - Aswan High Dam

Our Day Tours Egypt tour leader will greet you at your hotel or at Cairo International Airport to help you get your boarding pass for the flight to Aswan. Once you arrive at Aswan Airport, you will be met by your private English-speaking tour guide to start your 2-day overnight trip from Cairo by flight. Your first stop will be the High Dam in Aswan, which is considered the second largest dam in the world after the Chinese dam.It was built by President Gamal Abdel Nasser to generate electricity for Egypt and to mitigate the dangerous annual Nile floods that had been occurring since the dawn of Egyptian history.

From there, you will continue your tour to visit Philae Temple, which was dedicated to the worship of the heroes of the famous myth, Goddess Isis, the wife of god Osiris, and mother of the falcon God of the sky, Horus, who was also the protector of kingship.

The temple features archaeological columns from the Roman era, a rare cabin of King Negtanepo I, the temple of Hathor, and the temple of Imhotep, which dates back to the Ptolemaic era. You will then enjoy a delicious lunch at a quality local restaurant before heading to your hotel in Aswan for the night.

Day 2

Day 2: Abu Simbel Temples

On the second day of your 2 Days Aswan Overnight Trip from Cairo by Flight, after having your breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your Egyptologist tour guide to begin your once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Abu Simbel Temples.

The two temples at Abu Simbel, dedicated to King Ramses II and his beloved wife Queen Nefertari, are regarded as among the most impressive monuments in Egypt, second only to the Giza Pyramids.

Located approximately 290 kilometers south of Aswan, the Great Temple was built by Ramses II to commemorate his victory in the significant Battle of Kadesh, while the smaller temple was constructed in honor of his favorite wife, Queen Nefertari.

Following the construction of the High Dam by the Egyptian government, rising Nile waters threatened to flood and eventually cover the temples.

In response, Egypt, with the support of UNESCO, launched an extensive project to relocate the temples. The temples were carefully cut into 4,000 pieces and moved to a higher ground. This remarkable effort involved the participation of 34 countries and is considered one of the most significant archaeological achievements in history.

You will enjoy your lunch at a peaceful and quality restaurant before being transferred to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo.
