Day Tour to visit amazing landmarks in Luxor from Aswan

We pick you up from your hotel in Aswan very early in the morning and drive north to Luxor by private car. It’s about three and a half hours along the Nile valley, so sit back and watch the farms and palm groves go by. The early start gives you the whole day in Luxor, and you’ll be glad of it, because there’s a lot to see.

The Valley of the Queens, where the pharaohs' wives and children were interred in tombs carved out of the rock, is where we begin on the West Bank. Next, we visit the Valley of the Kings, Egypt's most well-known cemetery, where numerous pharaohs from the New Kingdom are buried in underground tombs with painted walls. Your guide explains the meaning of the murals and how the tombs were constructed. We see the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous stone sculptures that have stood alone on the plain for over three millennia, on the way out. Next, we go to the Ramesseum, the temple of Ramses II, which has lofty columns and a fallen colossal statue.

In the afternoon we cross to the East Bank for Luxor Temple, right in the middle of the city. It’s a beautiful place, with tall columns and statues of Ramses II, and it’s especially nice in the late afternoon light. When the visit is over, we drive you back to Aswan and drop you at your hotel.
