Your Private Day

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival - Pyramids - the new Grand Egyptian Museum

Try our 2-day Cairo and Alexandria trip. Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will be holding a signboard with your name. He will accompany you to meet your licensed English-speaking Egyptologist and begin your journey to the great Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx of Giza.

The necropolis is the sacred burial site of the kings of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, including the Great Pyramid built by King Khufu, whose tomb is located inside the pyramid.

This pyramid was built 4,500 years ago on the west bank of the great Nile River in northern Egypt. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1979.

As you stand in front of this massive structure, your personal tour guide will tell you about ancient Egypt and their religious practices.

On your way to the higher plateau, you will see the pyramid of King Chephren, the fourth king of the fourth dynasty and the son of King Cheops. It is believed that the Great Sphinx was carved for him to act as a guardian of the entire Giza necropolis.

At the plateau, you will enjoy a scenic view of the three pyramids, including the pyramid of King Mycerinus.

You will also have a great time taking amazing photos with the help of your accredited Egyptologist. You can also enjoy an optional camel ride around the Giza Pyramids.

You will then move on to visit the Valley Temple of Chephren, which was the place where mummification rituals took place.

After exiting the temple through a passageway, you will get a closer look at the Sphinx. The statue was carved from a single stone to symbolise the power of a lion and the wisdom of the king. It is in the shape of a lion's body with a human head.

Next, you will be transferred to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch.

Afterward, you will continue with your Cairo day tours. You will visit the magnificent New Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), one of the most important international museums. It houses rare and important artifacts dating back thousands of years. The museum was approved by Khedive Ismail in 1863 as a project for a museum of Egyptian antiquities. It officially opened in 1902 to showcase the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts and antiquities, particularly the golden collection of King Tutankhamun.

You will then be transferred to your hotel in Cairo for a smooth check-in and an overnight stay.

You will also have the option to try one of our activities and things to do in Cairo by night.

Lunch is included.

Day 2

Day 2: Alexandria Tour

After having a delicious breakfast, you will be taken by a private, air-conditioned vehicle for a nearly two-and-a-half-hour drive to begin your day tour of Alexandria from Cairo. Alexandria, located on the Mediterranean Sea, was founded by Alexander the Great, a Macedonian commander, during the Greco-Roman era. It was once considered the most beautiful city in the world at that time. During your tour, you will visit the following Greco-Roman sites:

The Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa:

This is one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt.

It contains tombs and artifacts that combine elements from both the Pharaonic and Roman periods. Originally an Egyptian burial site for nobles, it was later Romanized and became a place where high-ranking elites and their family members were buried. The site is located three floors below ground and features highly skilled inscriptions and artwork.

Pompey's Pillar:

This monument was erected in the 3rd century A.D. in memory of Emperor Diocletian.

It is the last surviving structure from the Temple of the Serapeum, built by Postumus. You will have the opportunity to view interesting statues and sphinxes in the ruins of the temple, which once served as the center of religious worship in ancient Alexandria.

The Citadel of Qaitbay.

Construction of this castle began in the year 882 AH by Sultan Qaitbay.

It was built on the site where the famous Pharos Lighthouse, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, once stood.

The Bibliotheca of Alexandria:

The new Library of Alexandria is a revival of the old library, which was destroyed in the early centuries after Christ.

It is part of a large-scale project initiated by Egypt in collaboration with the United Nations, making it one of the largest libraries of its time.

You will then enjoy a delicious and fresh seafood lunch at a high-quality restaurant.

Afterward, you will return to your hotel in Cairo or Cairo International Airport, depending on your departure arrangements. Your overnight stay in Cairo and Alexandria concludes your tour.
